How Does FSMA Compliance Affect Receivers

Receivers are anyone who receives food at a delivery point in the United States, whether or not the delivery point is the final destination for the food shipment.

Under the new regulations, receivers must:

1.      Take the necessary steps, when receiving food requiring temperature control, to assess the condition and temperature of the food, and the condition and temperature of the vehicle used for transporting the food, to determine if the food was subjected to significant temperature abuse or unsanitary conditions.
